What is NEET?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an entrance test examination conducted for students who aspire to study undergraduate medical courses, MBBS, and dental courses, BDS in government or private colleges all over India. It is conducted by The National Testing Agencyand provides the result to Directorate general of Health services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Colleges such as All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), in New Delhi and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate medical Education and Research (JIPMER) are outside the NEET’s purview for these institutes were formed by separate laws.
NEET is conducted ONCE every year in May. Student belonging to unreserved category can have maximum NINE ATTEMPTS in successive years and a maximum of FOURTEEN ATTEMPTS in successive years for those belonging to RESERVED CATEGORY.

FEE
For General, OBC Male the registration fee is of ₹1400. For SC/ST transgender, Female, Male the fee is of ₹750 and for General, ST, ST, OBC Transgender, female, Male under PWD quota is ₹750.
NUMBER OF SEATS
NEET-UG is a single entrance test for more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats throughout INDIA. All India Pre Medical Test(AIPMT) is also known as NEET. The seat distribution among colleges is as follows:

APPLICANTS APPEARED
As per the records the number of applications submitted in year2019, a total of 1,410,755 students appeared/ registries for the NEET examination and 1,326,890 in the year earlier.
Pattern and Structure
45 questions are asked each from FOUR sections Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Every correct answer awards 4 marks to the candidate and a question answered wrong results in deduction of 1mark. No kind of marking is done, neither positive nor negative, if the question is left unanswered.
CUTOFF SPECIFICATION
As of 2019 for the Unreserved section 50 percent marks were the minimum requirement to qualify whereas for the reserved section a minimum of 40 percentile was the qualifying line.

Counselling of NEET-UG is conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the DGHS. MCC/DGHS will counsel for 15% All India Quota, Deemed Universities, Delhi University, AMU & BHU including Institutional/ Domicile Quota, seats of SJH & VMMC.

The counselling is conducted in 3 rounds; the last round will be for vacant seats after round 1 and 2.NEET 2020 qualified candidates are required to register and fill online choices for colleges and course in order to participate in counselling.
Candidates who are not selected in the first round of counseling or are not satisfied with the seat allotted can apply for round 2 of counselling. They are not required to register or pay the counselling fee again while new candidates applying for round 2 of counselling are required to register and pay the counselling fee the same as round 1.
Documents Required:
- Admit Card of NEET 2020 issued by NTA.
- Result/Rank letter issue by NTA.
- Date of Birth Certificate (if metric certificate does not bare the same).
- Class 10th
- Class 10+2 Certificate & marks sheet.
- Passport-size photographs (8 photos).
- Provisional allotment letter generated on-line.
- Proof of Identity (Aadhar/Driving license/ Voter ID/ PAN/ Passport).
