what is jee?
Joint Entrance Examination is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by 2 different examinations JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.
The Exam is conducted Twice every year once in May and other in December.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) carries the admission process for IITs, NITs, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), Indan school of Mines and Government funded technical Institutes based on the rank obtained by a candidate in both The JEE MAINS and The JEE ADVANCED exams. Whereas institutes as Indian Institute of Science Education and Research(IISERs), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of petroleum technology(RGIPT) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) consider the score obtained in JEE Advanced as the only admission basis.

JEE MAIN
It has two papers, paper-1 for admission in B.E. and B.Tech and paper-2 for admission in B.Arch and B. Planning courses. An aspirant can apply for either both of them or can choose one.
PAPERS
Paper-1 is conducted online and Paper-2 is conducted on paper.
JEE Main has a fixed exam structure. Paper-1 is for three hours and consists of 20+5 multiple-choice questions in each of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. For every correct answer, a reward of 4 marks is awarded and on each incorrect answer, 1 mark is deduced. A total of 75 MCQs are asked with equal weightage on Numerical based as well as theoretical questions.
*As of this January, a new pattern of 20+5 questions per subject is introduced.
JEE ADVANCED
The students who manage to achieve top ranks are qualified for the JEE-Advanced examination.

In 2020 an approximate of 921,261 applications we’re filed which in comparison to 2018 is pretty low. In 2018, A total of 1,043,739 application we’re filed for the JEE Mains examination.
JEE Advanced examination in 2018 was attempted by 2,24000 students and as of 2019 1,61,319 students qualified JEE Mains to appear for this exam.
CUTOFF SPECIFICATION
The cutoff of JEE Mains 2020 will be announced by the National Testing Agency(NTA) only after the declaration of results. As for the cutoff of 2019, for general category student, it was 89.75, and for other backward classes (OBC/SC/ST) was 74.31.
