MHT CET

About MHT CET:

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET/ MH CET) is a state level exam conducted for admission to the colleges offering admissions to first-year Engineering and Technology programmes (B.Tech/ BE) and Pharmacy programmes (BPharma/DPharma) in the state of Maharashtra. MHT CET is conducted by the State Common Entrance Cell, Mumbai.

MHT CET is conducted in online mode in over 36 cities of Maharashtra for admission.

The exam is conducted in two mode: paper I & paper II, evaluating a candidate on the basis of their Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) & Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). A candidate is presented with 10 questions each in PCM/B for XI class & 40 questions each in PCM/B for class XII, in MCQ format, from the above mentioned sections, which he/she had to answer with the best of their ability under the maximum time offered of 90 minutes for BE/B.Tech and

Candidates are allotted in the different colleges of Maharashtra on the basis of their results I MHT CET . Around 4 lakh applicants appear in the exam every year. MHT CET will be conducted on July 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st, and August 3rd, 4th, and 5th ,2020.

MHT CET Eligibility:

  • Candidates appearing for MHT CET must have passed a qualifying exam like HSC/12th standard or it’s equivalent and are Indian citizens are eligible to appear for the MHT CET 2020.
  • A candidate applying for the MHTCET 2020 should have graduated with at least 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PWD students) or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university or are in their final year of graduation (their admission will remain provisional until submission of the passing certificate).
  • There is no age limit whatsoever in appearing for MHT CET 2020.
  • The children of Jammu and Kashmir migrants and Candidates with Minority candidature are eligible for appearing in MHT CET 2020.
  • Children of NRI/OCI/PIO/Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National Candidates are exempted to appear for MHT CET.

For MHT CET Pharmacy:

  • Candidates applying for MHT CET must have graduated/ appearing the HSC examination of Maharashtra state board of secondary and higher education or it’s equivalent examination with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects.

MHT CET 2020 Registration: 

  • The registration procedure starts with the candidate registering themselves by providing their details and preferences online.
  • Once registered successfully, the payment of ₹ 800 as the registration fee has to be made by the candidate from general category and registration fee of ₹ 600 is applicable for the SC/ST category candidates.
  • After registering online and successfully paying the registration fee, candidates can proceed by filling and submitting the MHT CET 2020 application form.
  • After the registration is completed, candidates are provided with their Admit cards by the conducting authorities according to the schedule.

MHT CET 2020 Exam pattern:

 

MHT CET 2020 entrance test will be containing 3 question papers with MCQs to be answered online only. The syllabus weight-age division is as follows:

    • 20% weight-age will be given to the questions from class XI syllabus.
  • 80% weight-age will be given to the questions from class XII syllabus.
  • Each paper will be of 100 marks and the duration will be of 90 minutes.

 The three papers will have the pattern as follows:

MHT CET 2020 Counselling:

MHT CET 2020 qualifying candidates are selected on the basis of their merit, Rank scored in MHT CET 2020 exam, and their performance in the Group discussion (GD) and Personal interview (PI) rounds and the availability of seats in the offered course. The result for subsidized seats is usually declared within a week of the counselling session. The qualified candidates are called in for counselling in the mid of July.

Candidates have to pay the counselling fee online on category basis:

  • General category and those belonging outside of Maharashtra state and children of Indian workers in gulf countries : ₹ 800
  • Reserved/ PWD category (of the state) : ₹ 600
  • NRI/PIO/OCI, foreign Nationals category: ₹ 5000 

Documents required at the time of Selection Process:

  • MHT CET 2020 Score Card/ Hall ticket
  • MHT CET 2020 Admit card
  • Passport-size multiple photographs
  • Original degree/provisional certificate
  • Caste certificate, PH/NCC/CAP/Sports and games certificates (if applicable)
  • Original and photocopy of Counselling letter
  • Original and photocopy of Admit card
  • 10th and 12th standard original and photocopy marks-sheet and certificate.
  • Transfer certificate
